MJM Exhibition from Arnhem, HUGE SUCCESS!

On Sunday night the superstars of MJM returned to Arnhem once again for a night full of nothing but one of the best shows to ever hit Europe. Racing got going later than expected, but once it did start, things worth smooth as warm butter. The big news for the night and the remainder of the season was the debut of the Advance Auto Parts Grinder truck which was driven by Lupe Soza. The winner of racing was unsurprisingly Jimmy Creten in the Bounty Hunter, who seems to have an upper hand in tight turns like we saw last night. The freestyle competition would see a lot of spectacular runs, and the two best in the judges eyes came from SIR's Excaliber and Captain's Curse. It's apparent CVH feels right at home with SIR once again, and maybe Blackwell can push forth a bigger name in freestyle this season! Make sure you stay glued to the site later this week because the MJM podcast returns as well!

Big News Coming for Arnhem?

As Ford has stepped down this year as one of the top sponsors of the MJM series, another long time MJM sponsor has taken it's place. Advance Auto Parts has stepped up as the title sponsor for this year, while MJM still remains to keep sponsorship with Ford. AAP wants to do something special as the new title sponsor this year, and they will be debuting a brand new truck this weekend in Arnhem for the MJM pre-season show. Nobody is sure of what this new truck is, or who will even be driving it.

Greg Johnson, Vice President of AAP had this to say, "As a national retailer, we are always looking to get our name out bigger and better. We have in a way been with MJM since it started, and now it's time for us to step it up. The decision to be the new title sponsor of MJM, and to bring forth a new truck to the series, is not only a way to benefit AAP, but a way to benefit the MJM series as well."

No driver has been announced yet, and there will not be one announced until the show Sunday in Arnhem. Tickets are nearly sold out, and the track set up began today as dirt is currently being layed out. Grab your tickets now for a chance to see the new AAP truck in Holland!

MJM to invade the Gelredome!

MJM kicks off its season with a preseason event across the pond, in Arnhem, Holland. Home of the Gelredome. MJM workers have already invaded the Gelredome, which plays a role to various big concerts and bands, and also hosts some major soccer tournaments. The place holds about 30,000 seats for monster truck action and I can guarantee you the place will be sold out on Sunday. Before we get into more in depth info of Sunday's event. MJM officials also caught up with Jon Zimmer over the phone.

MJM: Alright, over the phone, I have caught up with Jon Zimmer, driver of the Amsoil Shock Therapy owned by Sudden Impact Racing and Brandon Legarde. Thanks for the interview Jon.

JZ: Thanks for having me, it's a pleasure.

MJM: What is your goal for Sunday's event in Europe being that it is just a preseason event?

JZ: We are trying some new stuff out with the both trucks. They just got done being rebuilt last week, never ran since then. We have some new parts, a new driver, other than that things are the same. The only goal is to drive as hard as normal to test the durability of the new parts to our high demands.

MJM: Who is your toughest competitor out there?

JZ: Everybody. There is not one set person you pick out and say, "I have to keep my eye on them," when your running the Monster Jam series, everybody is tough, everybody wants to win just as much as you do, but if I had to pick I have to say my team mate Carl Van Horn, it won't take him long to get this Excaliber truck dialed in.

MJM: As we look ahead into the 2010 MJM season, what tracks will pose as a challenge for you and what tracks will be one that you are looking forward to?

JZ: Every track, in some way or another, will be posing a challenge to us. We really aren't sure what the tracks will even look like until we arrive to the events that morning. I don't have an "unlucky" venue, I'm not supersticious, we just take everything as it comes.

MJM: As we finish up this interview, what is your ultimate goal for you looking ahead?

JZ: My ultimate goal in winning the World Finals, as long as I'm there, the team is there, Carl is there, we have a good shot. Our team is full of talent, and we will always be trying as hard as we can.

MJM: Alright Jon, thanks for the interview and we wish you the best of luck!

As we look ahead to Sunday's event, the track is slated to be a St. Louis Style course, other then that we are not sure what else will be there on the track. We do know that Grave Digger, Bounty Hunter, Amsoil Shock Therapy, Taz, Air Force Afterburner, Excaliber, Captain's Curse along with many others will be in the show.
